Joy Elaine Cull

Joy Elaine Cull, age 82, passed away June 12, 2022, at her home in Garland, Texas, where she had lived for over 30 years with her beloved husband, Calvin.  Joy had a love for life, and with her vibrant personality was often referred to as the “life of the party”.  Known for long phone conversations with friends and family, she was never short of advice and information that was cherished by many. Joy loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.    

Born in Waco, Texas April 15, 1940, to Ralph and Rogene Dugger, she was the youngest of 5 children.  Her father’s Christian values were instilled into her at an early age, creating a faith that Joy carried with her until death.   

She is survived by George Calvin Cull, her husband of 31 years; her son, Michael Murry and wife, Darlene; stepdaughter, Kerri Cull Robinson and husband, Brian; and brother, Buddy Dugger.  Also, grandchildren, Rachel Johnson, Dylan Murry, Austin Murry, Robbieanne Green, Chase Robinson, and Georgia Robinson; and great-grandchildren, Maci Johnson, Jace Johnson, Dallas Johnson, Noah Murry, Sage Murry, Eleanor Murry, and Madeline Morales. 

Joy is preceded in death by her son, Rodney Murry; parents, Ralph and Rogene Dugger; brothers, Hollis and Jerry Dugger; and sister, Elizabeth Samford.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  A funeral service will follow in the chapel beginning at 12:00 p.m., after which a graveside service will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joy’s life.
